Lego began in 1949 with a simple, interconnecting brick toy factory. Today, the company is involved in the gaming industry as well as a star-studded feature film project. Perhaps it is no surprise, then, that the company has produced a number of rare and elaborate sets.
The 4,295 piece Tower Bridge is a beautiful example of Lego’s talent for highly detailed historical recreations, while the Ewok Village – a 1,990 piece rarity – displays the company’s ability to put a distinctive Lego spin on well-known cultural artifacts. Lego has a longstanding relationship with the Star Wars franchise; the most sought-after Lego set of all time may be the Ultimate Collector’s Edition Millennium Falcon, an out-of-production model introduced in 2007.
